To request a spay/neuter clinic reservation, please read the following information carefully.
-
Our current waitlist can be up to 3+ months.
-
When you reach a clinic reservation, a representative will contact you.
-
Once your reservation is confirmed, you will need to follow these steps:
-
FRIDAY 6-7 p.m., the Friday before the clinic you have reservations for, you attend a mandatory "humane trapping class" at 4100 Randelman Road, Greensboro, NC.
-
After completing the class, you will borrow FCAP's traps. A deposit of $75 per trap is required. This deposit will only be processed if the traps are not returned. We hold the funds in reserve, and you will not be charged unless our traps are not returned. Deposits can be made via checks, credit cards, or cash.
-
FRIDAY and SATURDAY: You will trap cats as per the instructions provided in trap class. Remember, do not provide food or water to the cats after midnight on Saturday.
-
Cats must be 4 months/4 pounds to be spayed/neutered through our clinic. Do your best to estimate age/weight, keeping in mind you do not want to have to let them go and try to retrap them. We will verify their weight once they enter our clinic.
-
SATURDAY, 4-5 p.m., or Sunday, 7-8 a.m., you bring cats in traps, that are covered with a towel, to check in at FCAP's clinic, located at 4100 Randelman Road, Greensboro, NC.
-
SUNDAY morning, veterinarians and volunteers arrive to intake, spay/neuter and recover cats. This is a high-volume clinic reserved for outdoor, free-roaming community cats and is not available for personal pets. All cats spayed/neutered at our clinic will receive a LEFT EAR TIP. NO EXCEPTIONS!
-
Our standard package is $10 per cat and includes: Rabies and distemper vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, flea and tick treatment, and a left ear tip. Any other treatments will be charged accordingly, and unless an emergency (in which case we will use our best judgement), we will obtain your approval before administering.
-
SUNDAY afternoon, you return to FCAP at the time you were assigned during intake, bring a towel for each cat/trap you are picking up ... to replace towels we will have in your traps, reclaim your cats, receive care instructions, check out and pay. You are required to provide TWO towels for each cat/trap. One per cat/trap at check in and one per cat/trap at pickup. You will get two towels per trap back ... but most likely not the same two towels!
-
SUNDAY night, you keep cats safely in their covered traps, inside a climate-controlled room, overnight.
-
MONDAY afternoon, you safely release the cats to the location where they were trapped. We recommend a slow release ... partially uncover the trap and let the cat acclimate for 10-15 minutes and then release.
-
THURSDAY evening (or as instructed), you return clean, loaned traps to FCAP.
